As I am writing this, I am looking at design #127CX, Season’s Greetings Jewel Holiday Card. This card design features a deeply embossed tree ornament topped off with a green ribbon that matches the color used on the ornament. Gold foil is used to stamp the designs that appear on the ornament, which is framed in gold foil and has the words “Season’s Greetings” in gold foil stamped in script lettering beneath it. As a personalized Christmas card, it is elegantly designed yet understated at the same time. You really have to see the card to understand how it can be elegant and simple at the same time. It’s a great looking card.

After the slideshow was put up, our judges found out that a few of the designs were not original. Please note that those designs were disqualified from the finalist pool and removed from the slideshow. Originality is a key factor for this scholarship contest. I was celebrating my 40th year at my company and kind of felt like I was being ignored because I hadn’t received any type of card to acknowledge this day. Each of the Executives stopped by in person and congratulated me but I felt let down because it seemed like any other day to them – not my special day!

Then later that morning I found the nicest business anniversary card on my desk. It was signed by all the Executives with kind words of recognition for all my years of service. I never realized just how good it could feel to be on the receiving end of an anniversary card! Each person made it a point of writing a special remembrance to signify the importance of this special time for me. By giving me this card they made me feel that my anniversary mattered and was special to them.

The personalized birthday card expressed how lucky she was to have her as a sister. It was so touching it brought tears to my eyes. I said to myself, wow she took the time to address and sign the card months ahead so it was up to me to deliver it to my aunt. I mailed the birthday card two days before her birthday and it did arrive exactly on that day. My aunt called me that evening to tell me about her special birthday card.

She was feeling down that morning thinking of her sister not being here to share the day with her as they’ve done in past years. She went to get her mail which came earlier than usual, and when she went through the mail and saw the card addressed in her sister’s handwriting she thought, “How could that be?” She opened the card and read the final loving words sent by her sister for her birthday. She told me how wonderful she felt and the birthday card just made her entire day because she did spend her birthday with her sister after all, and she will cherish her last birthday card from my Mom until they see each other again someday. My Mother was so right when she said “a greeting card of any kind will always make a person feel special.”

Design #316AY - Graceful Sympathy Card

Business sympathy cards are one of the hardest cards to send. Design #098AY, Sympathy Water Lilies Card, can help make this process easier. You want to let your recipient know how much you feel for his or her loss and that they are in your thoughts, but you have to make sure you do this in a very gentle way…and this card is very gentle. It is done on a cream colored stock with two white pearlized water lilies perched on light green lily pads.

This is a very reflective design. How many times have you sat by the edge of the water and stared out thinking of past memories, good and precious times you shared with your loved ones, and maybe wishing you could still have them here to create even more memories. This is the type of card that can make you feel inspired.

This business birthday cards design is featured on white glossy card stock, and there are a total of three balloons accompanied by decorative confetti. The embossing on the balloons and confetti demonstrate the excitement of this design; they really pop out at you! The confetti is cut in short and long pieces to give the effect that it is being tossed as the balloons rise up. The varieties of colors are eye catching – magenta, purple, blue, green, orange, and yellow. On the bottom right the sentiment reads, “Happy Birthday” in a turquoise blue that pulls the eye right in. The design is not too outrageous so it can be given to any employee…whether the employee is a close personal friend or even the company president. A box of this business birthday cards design would be perfect to have on hand for those last minute occasions that you accidentally forgot.

The simple gesture of giving birthday cards may provide a needed emotional lift, even when you didn’t know it was needed.

When you send premium quality birthday cards, you’re making a statement about the high value you place on your relationship with your employee. A card that is proudly displayed says volumes over an easily deletable e-card or flimsy overstock item. And, don’t forget the importance of taking time to jot a salutation with the celebrant’s name, along with a short note and your own signature.
