{"id":5185,"date":"2013-08-02T13:35:22","date_gmt":"2013-08-02T17:35:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gallerycollection.com\/blog\/?p=5185"},"modified":"2025-11-26T15:16:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T20:16:20","slug":"create-a-greeting-card-scholarship-series-2009-touching-thank-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gallerycollection.com\/blog\/create-a-greeting-card-scholarship-contest\/look-back-series\/2009-scholarship-contest\/create-a-greeting-card-scholarship-series-2009-touching-thank-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Look Back Series \u2013 2009&#8217;s Touching Thank You"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In our newest entry into our Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Look-Back series, we wanted kick off the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> annual scholarships month by giving everyone a behind the scenes look at the amazingly creative and gracious way the winner, Lauren Ondreko, sent us her thanks after we let her know that she had won.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5189\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5189\" style=\"width: 123px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallerycollection.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/scholarship_winner2009_picture.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5189\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gallerycollection.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/scholarship_winner2009_picture.jpg\" alt=\"2009 Scholarship Winner Lauren Ondreko\" width=\"123\" height=\"168\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5189\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lauren Ondreko<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/center>Lauren, who was the first high school student to win the scholarship contest, submitted a beautiful line drawing that featured all of the Christmas essentials like snowmen, presents, ornaments and more. It was a beautiful piece of artwork that to us, defined the spirit of Christmas and we felt was going to turn into a simply stunning <strong><a title=\"Christmas Card\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gallerycollection.com\/product\/snowman-surprise-christmas-card-300364.htm\">Christmas card<\/a><\/strong> in our collection.<\/p>\n<p>After Lauren had been told that she won the scholarship, she created handmade custom thank you cards that she sent to our office. It was a surprise to all of us when we received them and everyone in the office was touched by this beautiful gesture. The cards featured the same beautiful line work that made her scholarship entry be chosen as the winner. As if the beautiful drawing on the front wasn\u2019t enough, on the inside of the thank you cards, Lauren wrote a very touching personal note thanking the company for selecting her as the winner.<\/p>\n<p><center>[m-vslider id=&#8221;7&#8243;]<\/center>This scholarship has been a source of many great moments and memories for us and this was definitely one of the best.
