Birthday Cards for a Busy Business

I own a relatively small business that demands a lot of my time, as well as the time of my employees. As a way of thanking my dedicated staff, I give each of them a card on their birthday with a small message saying how much I appreciate them. With the limited amount of spare time I have, it is important for me to make the birthday cards shopping process as quick as possible. For three years now, the Gallery Collection has served as a one-stop-shop for my employee birthday card purchasing needs.

Each year the Gallery Collection comes out with new designs that are each equally as exquisite as the next. The intuitive search allows me to quickly rifle through their wide selection of cards to find something that is flexible enough to suit all of my employees. Although the search is a great time-saver, what I love most is the quality of the products. I cannot stress how brilliantly crafted each of the cards are; from the packaging the order comes in to the material used for the products themselves, I am always blown away. I will continue to purchase here and plan on making business birthday cards purchases for my clients as well.

Employee Birthday Cards For The Whole Office

Every year my company celebrates my birthday by giving me some great employee birthday cards. I’ve been receiving these cards since around 1995; they are from Gallery Collection and are superb. It seems wherever I’m working they all seem to get these birthday cards from the same company.

Employee birthday cards have made such an impression on me and my co-workers that I started sending cards to my business customers also. I just started a small dot com business and I’m still working on the website, but people know me from local advertising. So when I get new customers they start an account and fill in an info form with their name, address, phone etc. When I complete repair work on their computer, I get to know these customers more. They are so happy with the job I do, especially saving them tons of money by not having to buy a new computer, we usually become friendly.

So the next time their birthday comes around, guess what, they receive one of my Gallery Collection business birthday cards with a special greeting saying what a valuable customer they are to me and I wish them many more birthdays in the future. This has such an impact on my customers they soon tell friends and family. Then I would get a phone call or email saying “I’m a friend of Debbie and she spoke well of your service” and they need me to repair their computer. This is such a great way to build a customer base. I continually follow up with them through greeting cards.

Surprise Employee Birthday Cards

It was Monday (not the best day of the week) and it had been particularly difficult to get out of bed that morning.  I should have been in a good mood but I wasn’t.   I didn’t want to be turning another year older.  I was the new person at work and lived thousands of miles from my family and didn’t really know that many people in the area.  I managed to get myself ready and out the door on time (a triumph on any given day of the week) and didn’t hit any traffic on the way to work.  Hey, I guess things were starting to look up!  I made it through the lobby of the building, into our company office and to my desk without any major incidents (I am a klutz!)  I was about to log in to my computer when I noticed a number of envelopes in my in-box.  I didn’t think much of it even though mail at 8:00 am on a Monday morning wasn’t usually typical.   On closer inspection, I saw they were all greeting cards including two employee birthday cards personally signed by the executives and managers I reported to.  There were also a number of cards from my fellow staff members.   I couldn’t believe it!  I know human resources knows my birth date as it is all over my paperwork but I didn’t expect such an outpouring of well wishes from people I had only worked with a short time.

The day continued to improve.  My manager had brought in donuts and my cubicle mate had made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting, my favorite.  I guess her digging to find out what I had ordered for dessert a few weeks back at a new restaurant was really a dig for information for my likes and dislikes not info on the restaurant itself.  Later that evening when I spoke to family and friends back home, I couldn’t stop talking about how nice everyone was and what it meant to have someone acknowledge my birthday and all the beautiful cards I received.  It certainly made me want to pay it forward and I was hoping I hadn’t unknowingly missed one of my colleague’s birthdays.

I quickly when online to find a company that sold corporate birthday cards in bulk.  I work with a number of people and cards can be very costly.  I found several companies that sold business birthday cards but none were nearly as striking as those offered by one company in particular.  I set about ordering 50 cards to have on hand.  I couldn’t believe the specials they were having and I could even personalize them with my name.   A short week and a half later, I had the cards in hand and quickly went about gathering everyone’s birth dates and trying to find out their favorite treat as well!

Business Greeting Cards Help Erase Employee Dissatisfaction

Business greeting cards may have taken a back seat on the list of high importance when companies are considering what cuts should be made to the yearly budget. However, when the cost of sending a greeting card is analyzed, it is a small amount to spend. It can be a small price to pay to convey to the recipient that they are truly appreciated. It shows that one is remembered throughout the year. Not just when one is actually purchasing or utilizing a product or service, but all of the time. In these crazy economic times, an under appreciated customer or client can spell doom.

Now let’s take a look at employee birthday cards. How much importance do we place on this? I would venture to guess that it is probably not enough. The thought is that an employee should just be happy to have a job. This is true enough. But please consider this recent news headline – Americans’ Job Satisfaction Falls to Record Low. The article states that only 45% of Americans are satisfied with their work. In 2008 that number was 49%. Ok, that’s only a 4% drop. However, in 1987 the number of satisfied workers was 61%. The article goes on to list some of the reasons for the drop, such as the jobs are not interesting, incomes have not kept up with inflation, and the increasing cost of insurance cutting into take home pay.

There are some things that can’t be controlled. Inflation and insurance costs are all but impossible to fix. Companies can’t stop inflation or the increasing cost of insurance. Companies can however, do some small things that can take a bite out of this growing trend of dissatisfaction. You know, lessen the sting a little bit. By recognizing an employee’s birthday or anniversary, we are letting them know that although we are all trying to work through these trying times, they are truly and sincerely appreciated.

Ok, sending employee birthday cards is but a small thing, but small gestures can go a long way in boosting employee moral. Not showing appreciation will not help the company in the least, whether it is a customer or employee. Imagine if you will, that only 45% of your customers are satisfied. It’s a sobering thought. Any successful company knows that appreciated employees will go the extra mile, even in tough times. They will also stick with you when the tough times are over!

Company Birthday Cards and Their Impact

When I first started my business I didn’t send out company birthday cards to my clients or my employees. That all changed the day I received one from my doctor. Although the card was a few days early and very simple, it put a genuine smile on my face. The card reminded me of the wonderful care I receive and all of the amusing moments that have occurred at his office because of the great attitude that he and his employees have.

Realizing the impact that this card had on me, I decided to invest the time and money to make sure that each of my clients and employees received a birthday card. I wanted my clients to know that I value their loyalty. I also wanted them to understand that we care about their happiness and our relationship. A few weeks after I started sending the cards I received a call from one of my clients. She wasn’t calling to place an order, but instead it was to thank me for the card. At that moment I knew I had made the right choice in initiating this tradition. Since then, I have received several calls from clients just to express gratitude for remembering the one day that is theirs.

The snowball effect that the employee birthday cards had on the workplace environment was amazing. Employees started to actually do things for each other’s birthdays and everyone always seemed to be in good spirits for those special days. Usually it would be something small such as cutting a birthday cake during lunch or making plans to celebrate after work. Currently the team mentality is the strongest it has ever been and I have no doubt in my mind that this is all due to taking the time to remember each of our employee’s birthdays.

Sending employee birthday cards is important. Your employees are the back bone of your company. A dedicated, hard-working staff can make a business successful. As an employer, if you show your appreciation of your staff members’ services to you, they will become more enthusiastic about their job, benefiting your company as a whole. A business birthday card is the perfect way to show your employees that you care about them personally and recognize that they are an integral part of your business.

Employee Birthday Cards Help to Acknowledge your Special Day

Although I don’t look forward to getting older each time my birthday rolls around, I must confess that I look forward to getting birthday cards. I especially like to read what my fellow employees have to say. In my department, many of us are in the same age group (29 and holding if we are all to be believed). Because of this, many of the entries are about age. My fellow office mates try to be “gentle” as they know that when their birthdays roll around, they may be reading some of the same comments. This is all done in good fun, of course, as we don’t want to offend. For a few moments I get to have a good chuckle as I read the little pearls of wisdom that my co-workers have entered.

By sending out employee birthday cards you are sure to brighten the day of your recipients! When I come into work and find a stack of birthday cards on my desk, I know my whole day becomes brighter. I always know that they will be there, because they have been there for the last seven years. I almost forget that with these birthday cards, I am now another year older. I’ve decided that although I can’t do anything about that, I can certainly appreciate that my co-workers have taken the time to acknowledge my day. Oh yeah, and I’m not going there alone!

Employee Birthday Cards with Sentiments of Fun

I work for a company that sells employee birthday cards, so it is only appropriate that its workers would get a birthday card from those who employ them. The cards we receive are very familiar to us since they come from our own line of birthday greeting cards. It is what is written inside that makes these cards unique. In our situation, four key people in the company sign the birthday cards every year: the owner, the president, the department manager and one’s direct supervisor. In the beginning, the comments were nice, but basically, generic. Expressions such as “Have a great day,” “All the best,” or just “Happy Birthday” are common on most of these employee birthday cards. During the course of my 13 years of employment here, the once generic sentiments have changed somewhat in recent years.

Perhaps I have been working here too long, but the words I now receive seem to be a lot more personal and not always so “nice.” Some examples include: “You are looking fabulous at 60!” (I was only in my 40s); “Eat some cake, you are making the rest of us look bad” (after having lost a few pounds); “Enjoy, but no gloating over the Yankee defeats” (after my favorite Red Sox team won their second World Series). Am I upset by these comments? Not at all, because not only do I have thick skin, I like to dish it out as well. The people I work with have become my family over the years, sharing all my ups and downs. It makes me feel good knowing that they feel comfortable giving me the business. But keep in mind, when their birthdays roll around, I also can send out birthday cards to my fellow employees. So watch out!

Employee Birthday Cards Show that Little Things Mean a Lot

Times are tough and it may be difficult to give the raises and bonuses to the dependable and hardworking employees whose productivity you need to stay afloat. Employee birthday cards, especially those of premium quality, send an important personal message to your valued employees. Even those who joke, “I’m not having any more birthdays!” appreciate having their birthdays remembered and acknowledged with birthday cards.

We tend to share a lot about our personal lives with co-workers with whom we spend so much of our time. Even so, in our professional atmosphere, we are more likely to “put on a happy face” rather than share some deeply personal worries and disappointments. The simple gesture of giving birthday cards may provide a needed emotional lift, even when you didn’t know it was needed.

When you send premium quality birthday cards, you’re making a statement about the high value you place on your relationship with your employee. A card that is proudly displayed says volumes over an easily deletable e-card or flimsy overstock item. And, don’t forget the importance of taking time to jot a salutation with the celebrant’s name, along with a short note and your own signature.

This gesture of respect for your employees will add to their respect for you and for the business that sustains you both. As a bonus, you’re more likely to find your own birthday remembered and celebrated with an impressive number of birthday cards!

Design #464AE – Birthday Balloon Glitter

There are so many beautiful birthday cards to choose from in The Gallery Collection line but design #464AE, Birthday Balloon Glitter Greeting Card, is definitely on the top of my list when deciding which design to pick for my employee birthday cards. The single balloon floating in the sky reminds me of my childhood. I’m sure you can recall how you felt the first time you let go of that balloon and followed it up, up and away until it was out of sight as tears started welling in your eyes because you knew you couldn’t get it back. Ah, to be able to go back to the simpler times of childhood. But I digress…

This design’s beautiful blue balloon sprinkled with silver star accents in front of a blue sky backdrop is the perfect choice for employee birthday cards. The blue color of the balloon and background on the crisp white card works for both your male and female employees. And let’s face it, who doesn’t like balloons? It’s also both whimsical and professional which is not something you can say about all birthday cards. So you needn’t worry about whether it’s professional enough to send to your executives and yet it still has a fun quality that makes you think of celebrations and happy times.
